Jordan Reigel
President

Jordan Reigel is president of Essence Healthcare, where he leads the organization’s strategic direction, growth, member experience, and overall performance. He oversees the development and management of value-based care partnerships across established and emerging markets. Under his leadership, Essence has expanded its market footprint, driving value through provider partnerships, member engagement, and advanced efforts to deliver affordable, high-quality care to its members. With more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of health plans and provider organizations, Jordan brings deep expertise in network strategy, value-based payment innovation, and provider alignment. He is also skilled at building high-performing, mission-driven teams that work collaboratively to improve outcomes and deliver greater value across the care continuum. Prior to joining Essence Healthcare, he held leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare, where he advanced risk-sharing partnerships and care coordination initiatives. He most recently served as general manager of value-based specialty care startup focused on scaling value-based models for complex patient populations. Jordan is committed to building scalable, data-driven solutions that improve access, equity, and long-term health outcomes.

Saria Saccocio, MD, MHA
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Saria Saccocio is chief medical officer of Essence Healthcare. With more than 20 years in healthcare leadership, she has developed award-winning quality programs and advanced patient care across the continuum of services. Dr. Saccocio specializes in strategic planning, program development, and equitable healthcare delivery. Prior to her current role, she served as chief medical officer for several health systems such as Prisma Health, Bon Secours and Lifepoint Hospitals, and most recently as eastern region chief medical officer for Carelon Health. She earned her doctor of medicine from the University of Florida, completed her family medicine residency at the University of Miami and holds an executive master’s in health administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review among the top 100 hospital and health system chief medical officers and is an inducted member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Erin Venable
Chief Financial Officer

Erin Venable, chief financial officer at Essence Healthcare, oversees corporate and health plan accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and treasury. In her role, Erin provides strategic vision and technical leadership to drive financial strategy and develop robust accounting policies. With more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry, she is a certified public accountant and an active member of professional organizations including the American Institute of CPAs.

Britton Whitbeck
Chief Compliance Officer

As chief compliance officer at Essence Healthcare, Britton Whitbeck leads the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. By collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, he integrates effective risk management practices and governance into daily operations. His proactive approach and commitment to transparent reporting support the organization’s objectives in the Medicare Advantage and insurance sectors, reinforcing Essence Healthcare’s commitment to quality.

Gail Halterman

Chief Legal Officer

Gail Halterman is an experienced legal professional and health care executive. She joined Essence Healthcare after a distinguished career in private practice at Lathrop & Gage, LLP, a full-service national law firm (now Lathrop GPM). At Lathrop, Gail focused in the areas of healthcare transactional, regulatory and compliance law with particular emphasis on data exchange and privacy issues. In her role as Chief Legal Officer, she is responsible for legal strategy and operations, corporate governance matters and government affairs helping ensure the company’s proactive adherence with the spirit and letter of all applicable laws and regulations. In addition to her Juris Doctor, Gail holds a master’s degree in health services administration, and prior to her entry into law school, was licensed as a long-term care administrator.

Lisa Slattery
Senior Vice President, Plan Operations

Lisa Slattery serves as senior vice president of health plan operations at Essence Healthcare. With a background in clinical and operational quality, her focus is delivering an exceptional experience for each member and our network partners that provide their care. Lisa has extensive experience transforming organizational infrastructure and optimizing processes across public and private healthcare sectors. Her leadership is instrumental in advancing the delivery of Essence Healthcare products through systematic, tech-enabled, and data-driven improvements.

Tyler Carlson
Senior Vice President, Growth

Tyler Carlson serves as senior vice president of growth at Essence Healthcare, where he develops and executes strategic initiatives to drive customer acquisition, revenue expansion and enhanced brand presence. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Tyler consistently delivers results through a deep understanding of Medicare Advantage plans. His background in customer relationship management, data analytics and sales technology enable him to identify market opportunities and formulate effective growth strategies.

Vice President, Health Plan and Product

Caroline Anderson serves as vice president of health plan and product at Essence Healthcare. In her role, she guides the strategic development of health plans and product offerings. Leveraging extensive experience in financial management, strategic planning, and budgeting, Caroline ensures that the company’s solutions align with market demands and member needs. Prior to her current role, Suzanne spent over 15 years at Wunderman Health, guiding health plans across the country in transforming market data into actionable strategies that drive growth.
